Godsend and Halloween at Sport & Rec Club
Tonight only at the Magnetic Island Sports and Recreation Club Walk-In Movies is the movie "Godsend" an "M" rated thriller starring Robert Di Niro Greg Kinner and Rebecca Romjim-Stamos. The story: Paul and Jessie are devastated when their 8 year old son Adam is killed in a freak accident on his birthday. A distant acquaintance, Dr Richard Wells approaches them with a cloning proposition. The couple eventually agree and despite knowing the risks and the legal/moral realities Wells is anxious to prove his ground-breaking work in genetic engineering. But what the traumatised parents cannot know is what will happen when their replica son turns eight.
The doors open at 7pm for the Walk-In movie. A bar and kiosk are also open and a BBQ dinner is available. Movie starts at 8pm.
This is an inexpensive and fun way to enjoy a moonlight night on Magnetic and support a great community organisation.
Tomorrow (Saturday 30 Oct) Magnetic Island kids and their friends under 13 years can enjoy the Halloween Fancy-Dress Disco also at the Sport & Rec Club. Magnetic Times has learned that the first 20 kids through the dor on the night will receive a free glow stick and, if in fancy dress, they will also get half price on their bus fare. This will be a fully supervised event starting at 6.15pm and ending at 9.15pm. Entry $2.
