Smoke from Magnetic Island National Park

Smoke at Magnetic's western side The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will conduct a planned burn on the western side of Magnetic Island near Rollingstone Bay on Friday 16th November 2012 if weather conditions are suitable.

Smoke may be seen coming from the far western side of the island and is unlikely to affect residents.

This planned burn is part of an ongoing program to control rubber vine using an integrated approach involving a combination of both fire and herbicide.

The latest burn is the third stage in a series of planned burns that have already taken place this year in the area.

For more information, please call Magnetic Island National Park office on 4778 5378.
