Smoke from Magnetic Island National Park

QPWS Rangers at planned burn on the Nelly to Arcadia track The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) will be conducting a series of small planned burns around Magnetic Island over the next few weeks.

Weather conditions are ideal to undertake the low intensity fires in the national park to achieve conserve and maintaining healthy woodlands.

The fires will take place when conditions are suitable at various locations over the coming fortnight.

Smoke may be seen coming from the southwest corner of Horseshoe Bay, Mt Paulma area behind Nelly Bay and Arcadia, and on the far western side of the island.

For more information, please call Magnetic Island National Park office of QPWS on 4778 5378.

Syl Hayes In reply to Fair raises $15,000 for school
What a wonderful outcome for the school! I had a great time face-painting with Luke and Sasha, met lots of kids and parents, scored some great books at the Trash n Treasure stall, and even remembered to vote. Everywhere you looked people were enjoying themselves...such a tribute to the organisers. Well done!
