Musos moves to Bungalow Bay this Saturday

Charlotte Roberts will feature at this month's Musos Club This Saturday night sees Magnetic Island Musos Club debuting at a new venue for winter, Bungalow Bay in Horseshoe Bay (formerly known as Geoff’s Place). The restaurant is currently serving pizzas and garlic bread, the bar is fully stocked and the atmosphere is warm, out of the wind whilst still being outdoors.

The July Musos Club features the talented young performer Charlotte Roberts who is just 18 years old, turning 19 in a few weeks, who penned her very first song at the tender age of 11. Charlotte has been making her mark on the Townsville music scene with her country music sound. “I’d say it’s very country, very folk, a little bit pop and with an emphasis on story telling,” says the young singer/songwriter.

Charlotte has just released her third album ‘Behind These Walls’ last month, and is thrilled with how well the CD is being received. Since releasing her first album last year, Charlotte is gathering quite a following, and we are sure the Magnetic Island locals will be thrilled to be introduced to this budding young star.

This month also sees the return of solo artist Ben Vernon who is excited to announce he is pairing up to form a duo with, Musos Club President, Kelly Grech. The two are intending to preview a few songs at this month’s gig as well as lots of old favourites from Ben to get everyone up and dancing.

“Ben and I sang together a long time ago although we never got anything formal happening. I am thrilled that Ben has decided to commit to doing a duo as we really work well together,” said Kelly.

Kelly Grech also announced the Club's new secretary Bec Neilsen. “I’m sure Bec will be a fantastic addition to the team,” Kelly said.

Bungalow Bay is going to be the venue for the next three Musos Club gigs. This weekend they are serving freshly made pizzas for $12 and delicious garlic bread for $4.50. In coming months there may also be some additional dishes added to the menu especially for Musos Club.

Musos Club starts at 5.30pm and finishes at 8.30pm. There is no cover charge and drinks are at bar prices. There will also be a raffle on the night. Come along and support the Magnetic Island Musos Club.

What a wonderful outcome for the school! I had a great time face-painting with Luke and Sasha, met lots of kids and parents, scored some great books at the Trash n Treasure stall, and even remembered to vote. Everywhere you looked people were enjoying themselves...such a tribute to the organisers. Well done!
