Little killers loose again

On the loose again in Nelly Bay Last night the two small dogs we featured in our story, "Dog attacks mar improved owner behaviour" (August 17) were again on the loose killing a possum, and are allegedly implicated in the "sudden disappearance" of a family of curlews. Evidence of further attacks on chickens is also linked to the dogs' roamings.

We know this because a resident witnessed the dogs in his garden and is prepared to sign a statutory declaration if required to insure prosecution.

The resident was also able to photograph one of the dogs (above) which is worth comparing to our photo of the two dogs (see below) from the August 17 attacks (read here).

The Nelly Bay resident wrote: "The two small dogs shown in your photo earlier were still on their killing spree when they invaded our garden in Nelly Bay this afternoon at 5.30pm. They killed a small possum, one that we had got to know and like. Identical to your earlier photo, there was a small dark dog (photographed again) and the same small white one. Chicken feathers were also found in the immediate vicinity, which again matches your earlier report. The family of three curlews in our garden has also suddenly disappeared."

"These two dogs are both among the many unleashed dogs still to be found on Nelly Bay Beach every day.

Syl Hayes In reply to Fair raises $15,000 for school
What a wonderful outcome for the school! I had a great time face-painting with Luke and Sasha, met lots of kids and parents, scored some great books at the Trash n Treasure stall, and even remembered to vote. Everywhere you looked people were enjoying themselves...such a tribute to the organisers. Well done!
