Picnic Bay School Centenary Celebrations

Picnic Bay School turns 100 in June and everybody is invited to the celebrations in June 2013. Following is the Centenary Program.

Saturday June 8
2pm at Picnic Bay School
* Welcome and Opening Ceremony
Meet past pupils
View displays
Sculpture unveiling
Book launch

4pm (at PB School)
Fancy dress parade
Grown-ups! Kids! Come as Spider Man, fairy Princess, Pirate King, Hula dancer, Batman or whoever then... parade down the jetty!!

6pm Picnic Bay Jetty
*Community Dinner on the Jetty
Bring your own or purchase take-away dinner available from local eateries. BYO tables and chairs or picnic on the grass. (No alcohol - Law 51 applies)

Sunday June 9
9 - 3pm in Picnic Bay School grounds
* Back to School Sunday
Market stalls
Period costume! Join in the fun by wearing olden day clothes like hats and braces
Poetry competition
Come and enjoy the day in the leafy school grounds of Picnic Bay

Wednesday June 12
8.30am at Picnic Bay School
*Celebration Breakfast
Join us to mark the 100th anniversary day of the opening of the school at Picnic Bay.

It's 14 years since I last visited Maggy. I am shocked by Nelly Bay and saddened. It is insensitive, ugly and juxtaposed to the essence of Maggy. I embrace progress in general, but this is poorly conceived and executed. Shame.
