Mad Bastards plus an AGM
"Mad Bastards is an Australian film which charts the journey of TJ, DEAN DALEY-JONES, from Perth where he's just another ex-con with a fiery temper, especially when he's drunk, on a journey to see his 13 year old son Bullet, LUCAS YEEDA, whom he's never met." is how the ABC's Margaret Pomeranz begins her review of this Saturday night's offering to be screened by the Magnetic Island Film Society at the All Seasons hotel in Nelly Bay.

How I ended this summer - on Saturday
At a remote weather station in the far north-east corner of Russia it's summer, but still bitterly cold. This isolated, lonely and dangerous place is temporary home for veteran meteorologist Sergei, SERGEI PUSKEPALIS, and his student assistant, Pavel, GRIGORY DOBRYGIN. Their only link to the outside world is a two-way radio. That's the setting for this Saturday night's movie presented by Magnetic Island Film Society at the "all seasons" hotel in Nelly Bay Bay.

"Made in Dagenham" this Saturday
An historic event took place in England in 1968 and the film MADE IN DAGENHAM tells its story. It all began in the Ford motor plant in Dagenham where women workers, originally disgruntled about a new pay scheme that classed them as unskilled, finally took umbrage at the fact that they were paid far less than their male counterparts for doing the same work. Made in Dagenham is this Saturday night's offering from the Magnetic Island Film Society to be screened at All Seasons hotel in Nelly Bay.

"Ghost Writer" this Saturday
In THE GHOST WRITER, a car ferry arrives at a Massachusetts port, but one of the cars doesn't drive off; its owner has apparently fallen overboard. The dead man was political advisor to former British Prime Minister Adam Lang, PIERCE BROSNAN; he had been ghost writing the PM's memoirs. In London, the publishers quickly hire a new ghost writer, EWAN MCGREGOR, and despatch him to America where he finds Lang holed up in a bunker-like house together with his wife, Ruth, OLIVIA WILLIAMS, and his personal assistant, Amelia, KIM CATTRALL. Well, that's how ABC TV's At the Movies reviewer David Stratton describes the scenario for this Saturday night's MI Film Society's movie of the month to be screened at 8pm at the All Seasons hotel in Nelly Bay

A secret cupboard is at the centre of this powerful story linking Julia and Sarah, past and present. Tonia In reply to The ongoing price of Nelly Bay Harbour
It's 14 years since I last visited Maggy. I am shocked by Nelly Bay and saddened. It is insensitive, ugly and juxtaposed to the essence of Maggy. I embrace progress in general, but this is poorly conceived and executed. Shame.
