Bastille Day French flavour to Jazz Party benefit this week.

This Thursday 14 July jazz lovers will support the forthcoming 15th Annual Great Tropical Jazz Party on Magnetic Island with a distinctly French flavour.

The benefit seeks to encourage supporters to join the GTJP organizers for the launch of the 2011 event in August with the Bastille Day Cocktail Party Benefit.

Come in your best French outfit for an evening of great entertainment with the Brer Van Der Fox Quartet.

$20 includes two glasses of sparkling French champagne and French styled appetizers. All proceeds go to the 2011 Great Tropical Jazz Party.

Every August, a diverse group of jazz musicians from around the nation gathers on Magnetic Island, 8km off shore from Townsville, to celebrate the music and camaraderie that is jazz.

Now in its fifteenth year, this increasingly popular Great Tropical Jazz Party will again be held in the delightful tropical setting of the All Seasons Magnetic Island. Three nights and two days of exciting jazz with 35 of the finest overseas and Australian musicians, including:
Five Jazz Divas in Concert (New Zealand)
Julie Mason Quartet (New Zealand)
Phil Broadhurst Quartet (New Zealand)
Ingrid James Quartet/ Wild Silk Latin (Brisbane)
John Hoffman Quintet (Brisbane)
Duke Ellington Tribute - Bukovsky (Syd/ACT)
Ben Hauptmann Quintet 'Bob' (Mel/Syd)
Miles, Kind of Blue Tribute (Syd/ACT)

The character in the poster mustn't be French; mon ami, mon amie, mes amis, mes amies... but not mon amis

Syl Hayes In reply to Fair raises $15,000 for school
What a wonderful outcome for the school! I had a great time face-painting with Luke and Sasha, met lots of kids and parents, scored some great books at the Trash n Treasure stall, and even remembered to vote. Everywhere you looked people were enjoying themselves...such a tribute to the organisers. Well done!
