Advice to road users

THE MAGNETIC ISLAND ADVENTURETHON MULTISPORT FESTIVAL will be in session April 9th between 8:00am and 5:00pm and on April 10th between 9:00 am and 1:00pm.

There will be athletes of various abilities experiencing varying levels of fatigue on the course as the day’s activities progress. The athletes will require your support to get through their gruelling challenge so words of support from motorists would be so welcomed by all entrants. (if you would like to volunteer you can also) caution must also be taken when approaching the markets and adventure expo that weekend at the picnic bay mall. PLEASE BE AWARE that athletes will be riding & running along small sections of road to move between tracks as well as travelling across roads in sections.

EXTRA CAUTION is requested when on the roads Saturday and Sunday April 9 & 10. Any further information about the Adventurethon can be obtained at www.adventurethon.com.au or email info@adventurethon.com.au

I've just had a look at the maps of the mountain bike route. It looks to me like the riders are going through the National Park!! How come there has been no consultation with the Island community about this - or have I been asleep and missed it!!??

Syl Hayes In reply to Fair raises $15,000 for school
What a wonderful outcome for the school! I had a great time face-painting with Luke and Sasha, met lots of kids and parents, scored some great books at the Trash n Treasure stall, and even remembered to vote. Everywhere you looked people were enjoying themselves...such a tribute to the organisers. Well done!
