Magnetic Island reeling after fatal car crash

The remains of the car this morning Last night a car carrying four young Island men crashed near the corner of Sooning and Kelly street just metres from the Magnetic Island Clinic. Sadly one of the young men died and the other three are in hospital with serious injuries.

According to Police sources investigations are underway into the single vehicle traffic crash in which a car left the road and hit a tree around 12:30am.

A 25-year-old Magnetic Island man died at the scene. The three injured men, two aged 23 and one 18-year-old, all from Magnetic Island, were treated at the scene before being flown by helicopter to Townsville Hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening.

Something we certainly do not like to read about,
How terribly sad that one young man has lost his life, and another three taken to hospital as a result of this Car crash,
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of their Families and friends,it is just so sad.

It is terribly sad that on an Island with the top speed limit of 60km and hour that this kind of accident can happen. With one young man's life lost and another who has lost his foot. My heart goes out to all involved and we can only hope the driver learns from his terrible mistake.
