A young koala's beach adventure

"The kid with a bike" this Saturday

"Young Cyril, THOMAS DORET, is a wild child living in an orphanage. He's desperate to find his father who has moved on leaving no forwarding address. And he's also desperate to find his bike. A chance meeting with hairdresser Samantha, CECILE DE FRANCE, turns his life around a little bit. She finds his bike and he gets to stay with her weekends." That's how ABC's At the Movies reviewer, Margaret Pomeranz, sets the scene for this Cannes Grand Prix-winning film which is to be screened this Saturday by Magnetic Island Film Society at the RSL Hall in Arcadia.

Margaret writes, "Jean-Pierre and Luc, would have to be the greatest humanist filmmakers working today. Their capacity to draw us into a painful world and make us empathise to the extent we do is just extraordinary. And so it is with The kid with a bike. To see the rest of her review (Click here)

Tonia In reply to The ongoing price of Nelly Bay Harbour
It's 14 years since I last visited Maggy. I am shocked by Nelly Bay and saddened. It is insensitive, ugly and juxtaposed to the essence of Maggy. I embrace progress in general, but this is poorly conceived and executed. Shame.
