Musos Club trials new venue

Magnetic Island Musos Club returns this Saturday, March 10, but to a different, venue: The Arcadia Hotel.

The Arcadia is being trialled as an experimental venue with a different time slot too. The gig, for which no donations will be sought, will start at 5pm and run through until 9pm.

The arvo-evening time slot and new location which has been moved from the MI RSL, is likely to pick up on the backpacker audience as well as locals who can use the venue's wider facilities for a relaxing and entertaining time.

The gig will see the return of Sweet Thing with Helene Rankin performing her original songs supported by Ray Kennedy and Mark Hannan who team up later as the, wait for it, The Raymarks. Marley is back too as is the cool and sweet sounds of Firelight and later the solo guitarist Trevor Nielson. Keyboardist extrordinaire Jeremy Barnes is also on the bill so there be no shortage of energy on tap.

Musos Club has been Magnetic Island's community music hub for over ten years and is accessible to all who wish to get up in front of friendly live audience or just for the pleasure of hearing the music of Magnetic Islanders.

Syl Hayes In reply to Fair raises $15,000 for school
What a wonderful outcome for the school! I had a great time face-painting with Luke and Sasha, met lots of kids and parents, scored some great books at the Trash n Treasure stall, and even remembered to vote. Everywhere you looked people were enjoying themselves...such a tribute to the organisers. Well done!
