Help save a child

The Providence V Did you know that every 26 seconds a child is being lured or sold into the sex trade. And that there are approximately 2 million children currently trapped in sexual slavery. If you would like to help rescue some of these children from their unimaginable misery Rotary Magnetic Island is organising a very attractive opportunity to do just that and it's happening this Saturday.

Rotary Magnetic Island, working with Grant and Lindsay from Providential Magic, have come together to raise $2000 for Destiny Rescue - an organisation dedicated to rescuing children from sexual slavery and supporting them to a brighter future.

The fundraiser is an evening sail on board Providence V, a 62-foot gaff-rigged schooner which will take you around the magnificent western beaches of Magnetic Island.

The sail includes a complimentary champagne and nibbles, followed by a BBQ on the deck watching the sun go down. It's 3 hours plus of Magnetic Island's natural beauty from the deck of the only tall ship in our region and it will also help save a child from a terrible fate.

The full, inclusive price is $110

The Providence V departs at 4.30pm on Saturday March 27 from Nelly Bay Harbour

To book phone: 0412266881 or 47785880.

The Cruise was held last Saturday and was a terrific Success. 22 people paid for a cruise on Horseshoe Bay where we had entertainment with Ella singing great fun songs. There was Champagne thanks to Barefoot Gallery and Dinner thanks to Grant from Providence. IGA sponsored a platter of snacks and we all had a great time. Far from finishing about 8 we were still rocking on at 9.30pm. I thank all the people who made the night special and Meg and Alice for the terrific Dancing on the deck
$2000 will be sent to Project Destiny Rescue

Syl Hayes In reply to Fair raises $15,000 for school
What a wonderful outcome for the school! I had a great time face-painting with Luke and Sasha, met lots of kids and parents, scored some great books at the Trash n Treasure stall, and even remembered to vote. Everywhere you looked people were enjoying themselves...such a tribute to the organisers. Well done!
