Forest Haven: where you'll feel like a local

Welcome to Forest Haven One of Magnetic Island's great accommodation secrets is one of its oldest. Tucked away at the end of Cook Road in beautiful Arcadia, Forest Haven is owned and operated by a fifth generation Island family who know all there is about the authentic Magnetic Island experience and will quickly make you feel like a local.

Situated right beneath the stunning granite outcrops, which rise above Magnetic's prettiest, populated bay at Arcadia, Forest Haven is situated within 3/4 acres of tropical gardens which back onto the World Heritage National Park.

Forest Haven has a rich history dating back to World War II. The main building was completed in 1947 but a part of the complex was used in WWII as barracks for soliders manning The Forts observation point. It has been run as a guest house ever since.

Forest Haven is a very relaxed and quiet alternative to Magnetic's bigger and busier budget accommodation houses. Visitors are impressed at Forest Haven's truly inexpensive rates in such a superb location that has all the facilities you need for a no-hassle holiday - including:

*Free pick-up and return to the ferry terminal

*Laundry facilities

*Internet access

*All tour bookings

*Linen provided and of course

*swimming pool and barbeque areas.

The accommodation ranges from 1 or 2 bedroom self contained
units with double and twin beds through to four bed dorms.

who you will meet during your stay

A preview of the self contained units follows:

It's a great place for friends to stay together and save together

And the dorms look like this:

And there is always the chance you will meet
a few more locals than you expected.

And the scenery within a couple of minutes walk is part of
what gives Magnetic Island its World Heritage status.

Rooms are available from $40 & Beds from $15 per night. Units from $80 per night.

Been there, done that! It was in 1988 and your place have changed in a good way! Very nice decoration. We kept very good memories of our stay there. We looked after the barbecue and served over 40 people a night it was a great succes. Keep up with good work, we are glad that the place is now run by locals!

I had a pretty self contained unit - loved it here. Great view from my window, sunsets, birds and wildlife. Lovely walk to either Alma or Arcadia Bay. Great price, people and memories.

Stayed here in 2006 - very peaceful and I was able to listen to and photograph a rare bird in the garden - felt so at home, great base in Magnetic Island.. Nice pool. This place is convenient yet secluded.
