Win tickets to Othello under the stars

A scene from Othello Magnetic Times is happy to announce another competition for our News Club readers with two double passes available for each of the two weeks the Tropic Sun Theatre under the stars experience will be presented at Queens Gardens in North Ward.

If you are not familiar with this elegant Shakesperian tale: in Venice, the young Desdemona falls deeply in love with a famous general, the Moor, Othello, and travels with him to continue their idyll on the island of Cyprus. Jealous eyes and sick minds follow them and, before long, the ugliest of whispers echo in Othello's ears like approaching thunder. When the storm breaks over their island of dreams, nothing will stand in its path.

Nobody falls like a great man in love.

It's a story of betrayal and broken faith, with Tom E. Lewis in the title role. Tom is the winner of the 2006 Red Ochre Award, a national award for lifetime service to Indigenous Arts.

Presented by Tropic Sun Theatre Company in partnership with Darwin Theatre Company.

To enter our competition however you need to be a member of the Magnetic Times News Club which is free and means you will receive an emailed alert containing the first paragraph of our latest news stories as they are posted. You can then decide if you wish to link back and read the whole story.
